Please pray for the families of a number of Christians killed in recent assaults on villages in Nigeria’s eastern Taraba State.

At least ten Christians were killed when suspected Fulani Islamists and other terrorists raided the Yangtu Special Development Area near Takum last weekend.

One resident told Morning Star News, ‘Some of the Christians were killed while they were returning from their farms, while others were killed in their houses in the affected villages.’

A member of the Ussa Local Council said, in a text message, ‘There have been issues of Fulani bandits’ attacks in our area, and they’re constantly attacking our villages. These terrorists have been attacking our communities without restraint from security agents.’

The violent raids have brought untold misery and hardship on Christians in the area, he said. ‘More worrisome is the fact that Christians are being attacked as they work on their farms.’

The Taraba State Police Command has verified that 10 people were killed, but locals have claimed the number is higher.
